Happy Easter!
Enjoy your time with family and friends! Make sure to keep track of your candy and dessert intake. Depriving yourself at family gatherings will just make you miserable. Have a little, treat yourself to your favorite and leave the rest. Remember "Moderation is the key!"

Happy Labor Day!
Hope everyone had a fun day today! It rained on and off for us. Not a good day for the beach.
Had a fun time with friends today. Had a good meal and good conversation.
Eating well when out with friends can be difficult. Remember to go easy on the appetizers and choose the healthy food items over the not so healthy. If it's a special occasion, have a taste if you know you it won't cause you to over do. Moderation is key.

Day 1 Work Out
I started a new workout program today. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of resistance. Because of my schedule, I will break it up in 2 parts. I will do cardio in the morning and resistance training at night. Doing cardio in the morning will get my metabolism fired up and ready for the day. I find that if I do cardio at night, I'm awake for a while and end up not getting my full 6 - 8 hours. 8 hours is ideal, by the way.

4 tools for good health
There are 4 tools that will ensure your success in achieving a healthy body.
1. maintain a healthy diet ( foods low in carbs and fat) Moderation!
2. consistent activity (exercise)
3. cellular nutrition (vitamins from a reputable source) over the counter isn't often what it claims to be!
4. journaling (keep track of your consumption just like you keep track of your money $$)
Write down what you eat in a little notebook to keep track of what you eat. You'll be amazed at what you eat, and how much you eat in a day!

Reunions
Yesterday, my High School held an Alumni Day and 8 of us from my graduating class were in attendance. It was great to see how good everyone looked!
Last month, I attended a family reunion and realized I have an additional factor influencing my physical appearance. Genetics is definitely playing a part! My cousins and I are looking more and more alike!
After attending both reunions, it occurred to me how important it is for us to make time for ourselves. It is possible to look good and stay healthy and youthful. Life can get in the way, but it's important to schedule "me time" in your day for activity (aka exercise). In addition, eating well and taking supplements to keep you healthy from the inside out work hand in hand. 30 minutes per day of doing something on a regular basis is better than doing nothing. In fact, doing something intermittently can do more harm than good.
This week, schedule 30 minutes to take a walk, or do something you enjoy. If you can't fit in a whole 30 minutes, break it up! 15 minutes early in the day, and 15 minutes at the end of the day. Until next time, have fun!

Just Back from Boston!
Just back from the NAAAP Conference in Boston. NAAAP stands for National Association of Asian American Professionals. It was a great experience to be with so many professionals from all over the nation and Canada. It was very inspiring and I learned a lot from the seminars and speakers. I was recently appointed the Health and Wellness Coordinator for NAAAP San Diego. Can't wait to start spreading the health word to our members!
